I have been fortunate to be a recipient of Emil’s general contracting services for the past six months. He has done repairs for water damage and home remodeling throughout both of my residences in Chicago and Kenilworth, Illinois.
He has done stone restoration, drywall repair, painting, electrical work, plumbing, wood staining, pressure washing and much more. His versatility and high skill level makes him an asset in this often stressful process. Emil does quality work for reasonable prices. He works with flexibility and great care to provide me a personalized service. For this reason I trust him.
I highly recommend Emil especially for contracting work or household/property management. He has provided an invaluable service that I know I will not find in one person again. We are sad to see him go, but happy that he is moving on to new challenges.

“When we decided to renovate our kitchen we were extremely impressed with Emil and the team at SUNSTAR. Emil’s bid was more than competitive, but his work was outstanding and comparable to contractors at twice his rates. We are very particular about our kitchen design and as such had Emil make a number of custom alterations. Our backsplash consists of handmade clay tiles. Each one had to be laid by hand and the layout preplanned since we had different sizes and a specific pattern in mind. Emil made it stunning. His attention to detail cannot be understated when he mixes different color grout for each specific stone connection, making our countertop look seamless. It’s that kind of artistry that sets his work apart from all but a few of his competitors. When you factor in the savings in price over the guys advertising at Merchandise Mart, you’d be foolish to look elsewhere.”

“No words can express sufficiently how wonderful it has been to work with SUNSTAR Services LLC, and its owner Emil Korzystka. We were in an awful situation trying to complete construction on our cooperative apartment, having been left in the lurch by the previous general contractor. We were frantic trying to figure out how, in a short and inflexible time frame, to get the project finished so we could move in with our young son.
Emil was sent to us as a stone contractor who could complete the stone issues and our home, he turned out to be much much more. He literally took control of the situation for us, and through his help and guidance we were able to obtain and coordinate all necessary trades; plumber, carpenter, electric, paint and specialty.
Emil is meticulously clean, detail oriented and does not accept anything that is not the way it is supposed to be.
Even more importantly he is smart, caring and he thinks. We had an electric switch issue that was caused by incomplete wiring by the previous contractor. No one was able to figure a way around the issue until Emil said “let me think about that”. Shortly thereafter he not only had a solution, but one that was better than the original plan.
In addition to his craftsmanship Emil also possesses a wonderful eye for design. We were struggling with the design for our kitchen island, and with his help and input we were able to create a design better than any designer or architect had offered.
A wonderful communicator, he always arrives when he says he will, calls with any questions or concerns and does whatever needs to be done to finish the project. It does not matter if it means he has to lift something, travel to pick up supplies or fix someone else’s mistake, if it needs to be done Emil takes care of it with a smile and sense of humor.
We would use Emil and his company for any project we have in the future, and without any reservation recommend him”.
